Job Description

Job Description

Help build & maintain the most advanced wire manufacturing operation in North America.

At Accel International , we don't believe maintenance is about fixing broken equipment.

We believe it's about preventing failure before it happens , improving every machine we touch, and creating a manufacturing operation that competitors simply can't match.

If you're the type of technician who enjoys troubleshooting difficult problems, takes pride in precision work, and wants to be part of a company investing heavily in world-class manufacturing technology, we want to meet you.

Accel International manufactures high-performance conductors used in aerospace, medical, telecommunications, defense, and other critical industries. Our technology powers applications where quality isn't optional—and neither are the people who maintain the equipment that makes it possible.

With state-of-the-art facilities in Connecticut, Indiana, and Florida, we're continuing to grow, invest, and raise the standard for American manufacturing.

What You'll Own

You'll be responsible for keeping our manufacturing equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Your work will directly impact production, quality, customer delivery, and the future growth of our company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Diagnose equipment failures quickly and implement permanent corrective solutions
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Install, repair, and modify manufacturing equipment
  • Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Maintain motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, sensors, PLC-controlled equipment, and production machinery
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Document repairs accurately within maintenance systems
  • Partner closely with production, engineering, and quality teams
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe maintenance environment
  • Help improve equipment reliability—not just repair breakdowns

What Makes You Successful

The best technicians are naturally curious.

They don't simply replace parts—they solve problems.

They're calm under pressure, enjoy diagnosing difficult issues, and constantly look for ways to make equipment run better than before.

You should have:

  • Experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems (120V–480V preferred)
  • PLC troubleshooting experience is highly desirable
  • Welding, fabrication, and machining experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • Pride in producing high-quality work
  • Ability to safely work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Technical school, trade school, military, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing environments is highly valued

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Climb ladders and work from elevated platforms when necessary
  • Bend, kneel, crawl, push, pull, and reach throughout the shift
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and precision measuring instruments

Why Top Technicians Choose Accel

We're building something special.

This isn't a company where maintenance is treated as an afterthought.

You'll work alongside leaders committed to investing in better equipment, better processes, better technology, and the people who keep it all running.

We offer:

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Ongoing technical development
  • Modern manufacturing facilities
  • A culture built around teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

If This Sounds Like You...

You don't wait for problems.

You prevent them.

You enjoy solving difficult challenges.

You take pride in building reliable equipment and reliable processes.

If you're ready to join a company that's investing in the future of American manufacturing—and wants technicians who are equally committed to excellence—we'd love to hear from you.
